SHELBYVILLE — Brenda (Chilton) Morgan of Shelbyville, formerly of Franklinton, passed away at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born on Nov. 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Oldham Gayle and Martha Alberta (Kelley) Chilton and the widow of Clyde Morgan. A lifelong educator, she taught and loved many children over the years at Campbellsburg and Eastern Elementary Schools. Profoundly strong in her faith, she was a member of Highland Baptist Church of Shelbyville and was a former member of Point Pleasant Christian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and board member. She enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats, but most of all, she loved spending time with her granddaughters, Kate and Macy.
Brenda is survived by a son; Jarett Mason Morgan (Janet) of Knoxville, Tennessee, a brother; Ashley Chilton (Nancye) of Pleasureville and granddaughters, Kate and Macy Morgan.
A memorial service was held Friday, March 29, 2024, at Highland Baptist Church of Shelbyville, with Dr. Chris Platt officiating.
