New Castle resident robbed in home at gunpoint

By Brad Bowman

A man broke into a New Castle home Thursday night, robbing the resident at gunpoint before fleeing on foot.

Nancy Clark said by the time she heard the sound of her back door getting kicked in on La Grange Road in New Castle, the unidentified man was in front of her.

“I was just sitting in my living room and heard this big bang,” Clark said. “By the time I heard he was right here in front of me.”

According to Kentucky State Police, Clark called 911 at 11:53 p.m. Troopers searched the area and failed to locate the man Clark said looked to be around 25.

“He had a bandana covering his face and had a rifle. He just wanted money and I gave him two $5s,” Clark said.

KSP said Clark described the perpetrator as a short, white male wearing cowboy boots and blue jeans. The man wore a cap and a red bandana covered his face.

Detective Steve Goodale is leading the investigation. Henry County Sheriff’s Department assisted troopers at the scene.

Kentucky State Police ask that anyone with information should call KSP Post 5 at (502) 532-6363.
