Henry County native Zach Banta loves coming back home and working in the county he’s from.
Citizens Deposit Bank recently hired Banta as a business development officer and the assistant vice president of the Eminence branch. Banta graduated from Henry County High School in 2003. He graduated from UK in 2007 where he majored in telecommunications with a minor in business.
“I had been working at Citizens Union Bank in Shelbyville and I am really glad to come back home and to the community I grew up in,” Banta said.
Banta will generate new business opportunities for the bank primarily through personal, farming and commercial loans.
“I will be doing lending of all types,” Banta said. “I am happy to talk with anyone who is interested in getting a loan whether it is personal, small business or farm.”
Banta and his wife Kristian Banta are expecting their first child, Lillian Kate, in May. Banta said he thinks the local climate is right for small business owners to thrive.
“I think there are a lot of loyal customers in this area that are loyal to this area,” Banta said. “I think it’s a good place for small businesses to come in because of them. I think people here want to shop locally if it’s available. Obviously, a lot locally isn’t available right now, but people are loyal to the area.”
