Family-owned DJ’s Towing Service in Campbellsburg has been open only six months, but it got a leg up from its predecessor, JR’s Towing Service. New owners Steve and Jodie Judy took over the business from Jodie’s father Junior Moore. “He owned the business for more than 20 years,” Jodie Judy said.
DJ’s has a trio of tow trucks at the ready 24/7. She said DJ’s has contracts with AAA as well as four other roadside assistance companies.
Steve Judy said their tow trucks are equipped with top-of-the-line features. “We are the only towing business in the tri-county to have side-pull recovery systems,” he said. “It’s something new like a wrecker and rollback in one.”
Jodie Judy said the wrecker service also runs rotation for the Kentucky State Police as well as the Oldham County Police Department. “Ninety percent of our business is towing,” she said.
DJ’s also can make relocation easier for Henry County residents. It is the only county location for U-Haul truck rentals, something that was added recently. “The closest are Shelby County, Crestwood or Carrollton,” Jodie Judy said. Customers may call DJ’s directly or contact U-Haul. “They’ll make sure one is available on the lot,” she said.
They also offer auto repair and are Interstate Battery dealers. Steve Judy said they offer all kinds of repair and maintenance including oil changes, brake jobs, tune-ups, new/used tires, tire repair and tire rotation. “We also work on farm equipment and lawn mowers as well as autos,” he said.
Steve Judy said his hours are flexible. “I do accommodate service after hours,” he said.
Another service offered is a locked secure storage lot on the premises. “I pull cars I’m working on in the lot overnight,” Steve Judy said.
DJ’s shop and office regular hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday by appointment, but is closed on Sunday.
The businesses are located on U.S. 421 in Campbellsburg across from City Hall. Call (502) 532-7373 for more information.
