Cats runners-up in Toyota Holiday Classic

Henry boys even record at 5-5 after South Oldham loss in the championship

By Tommie Kendall

Even with a new coach and inexperienced players, the expectations are high for the Henry County High School boys’ basketball team. And that’s just the way coach Derek Springate wants to keep it.

The Wildcats finished second place in the Forcht Bank/Dry Ridge Toyota Holiday Classic hosted by Grant County last week, but Springate was not satisfied after his team went 2-2 during the five-day stretch. The Cats beat Ludlow (70-51) last Saturday and Grant County (56-42) on Monday, and then lost to Williamstown (38-37) on Tuesday and South Oldham (46-33) on Wednesday.
