Chamber Awards: We want you to tell us who’s the best

-A A +A
By Pat Wallace

The Henry County Chamber of Commerce annual awards dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at Eminence Christian Church’s fellowship hall. The dinner is sponsored by Farmers Deposit Bank and the meal is catered by Lisa’s Cakes and Catering. Tickets are $20.

The Chamber wants your nominations for the awards. Anyone can nominate for these, and we want a number of nominations for each category. Listed below are the awards and the criteria for each. If you do not have the official award nomination form, just place the name of the award, the name of the nominee with their address and phone number and write why this person or business is deserving of the award. If you have supporting documents, send them as well, but they are not required.  Please put your name, address and phone number on the sheet and send it to the Henry County Chamber of Commerce, Box 355, New Castle, 40050.

For a complete list of the awards, please visit www.hclocal.com.

All nominations are due by Feb. 6.  Chamber members may sponsor these awards and have their business name on the award and can present it to the winner if they wish.  Call the office at 845-0806 for more information.

New members

We welcome new members to the Chamber:  Seven Counties Services, Henry Co. Rural Diabetes Coalition (Mona Huff), and Air Force Junior ROTC at Henry Co. High School .  If you would like to be a member of the Chamber, call the office for an application or check our web site at www.chamber.henrycountyky.com for an application form.

Other events

Don’t forget the Education Foundation Dinner at 6 p.m., Feb. 11, in the Eminence Independent School’s Gym.

Tickets are $20. If  you have a donation for the silent or live auction or want tickets, call Karen Paris at 269-0012.

The Chamber will have their Day at the Races on May 18.  If you would like to attend, give the office a call so the correct number of tickets can be requested.  I realize it is really early, but Churchill does everything in advance — way in advance, but makes it difficult for those who wish to attend.  Tickets will be $40, but for now, I just need a head count.

If you or anyone you know is interested in being in the next Leadership Henry County class, please let me know.  I would like to start a class in April and run through Nov. to miss any bad weather we sometimes have in the winter months.
