Clerk's proposed budget includes $55,440 increase in excess fees

By Jonna Spelbring Priester General Manager During last week’s Henry County Fiscal Court meeting, Henry County Clerk Juanita Lashley presented the first draft of her 2008 budget. The budget includes a 10 percent forcasted increase in receipts, and an 8.9 percent forecasted increase in total disbursements. Lashley’s proposed budget projects almost $3.185 million in receipts, and $3.13 million in expenditures. That leaves projected excess fees of $55,440, $30,893 more than was budgeted for 2007, or a 126 percent increase.
