Why did you get into coaching?
I wanted to coach since I was in 5th grade. I got my first job coaching middle school boys while in college.
What is your coaching philosophy?
We are here to help kids grow up through sports while trying to teach them how to be successful.
What has been the highlight of your athletic career?
When former players want me to meet their kids and want me to be involved in their life.
If you could have a couple of hours with any great coaching legend past or present who would it be? Why?
John Wooden. Any man that can win eight straight championships is worth listening to.
What’s the biggest piece of advice you have for your players?
Use basketball as a tool to help you and you will find you have helped basketball.
If you could change one thing about high school athletics what would it be? Why?
Not long ago, the kids’ main goal was to do sports for their school. The pride in school was the main thing. Now kids are taught to do it for themselves. We are finding several kids are taught to be more selfish and we are losing the aspect of school pride.
