Wednesday, June 9

Children’s Story and Craft hour every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Pleasureville Christian Church. Also, the community library at the church is open to the public.

Union Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School through June 11 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly.

Take Tromp Through the Swamp and A Break by the Lake at the Henry County Public Library with humorous singer/songwriter Tom Sieling at 11 a.m. and  2 p.m. For more information call the library 845-5682.

Thursday, June 10

Free adult scrapbooking offered at the Eminence Community Life Center from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursdays.

Relay For Life cookout from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Courthouse Lawn sponsored by the Henry County Government Team. Hamburgers, baked beans, slaw, chips, homemade desserts, drinks, $7 per plate.

Computer and Internet Basics classes will be held at the Henry County Public Library at 2 p.m.

Friday, June 11

Alcoholic’s Anonymous  meet at 8 p.m. at the Eminence Baptist Church. This group, along with Al-Anon, will also meet Sunday, June 13 at 7 p.m. at Henry County Library and Tuesday, June 15 at 8 p.m. at Eminence Methodist Church. All of these meetings are non-smoking.

A New Direction in Life, a Christian support group for alcohol/drugs or other addictions will meet from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Eminence.

Pleasureville Christian Church will have Son Harvest County Fair Vacation Bible School  through June 13. On Friday, supper is at 5:30 p.m. and VBS starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 12 VBS is from 9 a.m to 11:30 a.m. and a potluck lunch will be served immediately after and on Sunday, June 13 the VBS program will be held.

Saturday, June 12

AA meeting at 8 p.m. at the Pleasureville City Hall building. These meetings will be non smoking.

The Shelbyville/Eminence KSU Alumni Chapter will host their annual scholarship fundraiser. The fashion/luncheon will be held at the Stratton Center in Shelbyville, 215 Washington St, at 11:30 a.m. The local alumni chapter is trying to raise money to help send students to KSU this fall. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased by calling either Evette Beasley (502) 633-0277 or Janice Harris (502) 633-4779.

New Castle Christian Church Relay For Life Yard Sale and Bake Sale will be held in the gym from 8 a.m. to noon. If you have any questions please call (502) 845-2511.

Sunday, June 13

Vacation Bible School Kick Off event at Pleasureville United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. Games, crafts and inflatables. VBS will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. from June 14 through June 16th for kids ages 2 to 12 years old. A meal will be served at 6 p.m.

Monday, June 14

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting  at 11 a.m. at New Castle Christian Church. Please enter through the green door.

The County Kickers Line Dancing Group meets every Monday and Thursday at the Henry County Fairgrounds 4H Building in New Castle. Lessons are held both nights for beginners from 6 to 7 p.m. Advanced lessons follow from 7 to 8 p.m. There is a fee of $20 per year. The Shelby County Professional Women’s Club invites farmers and residents to attend an informational program at 6:30 p.m. at the Kentucky Farm Bureau office on Mt. Eden Rd, Shelbyville.  The presentation is about the Pork Industry and will cover various topics. Program is free, dinner cost $10. Eat Right When Money’s Tight is a workshop that presents options for budgeting your money while feeding a family. It will offer ways to make your dollars stretch. The Henry County and Eminence Family Resource/Youth Services Center are sponsoring this parent workshop a the Henry County Library  from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
