Community Calendar for the week of March 4, 2009

Wednesday, March 4

 

Karate classes will be held at the Community Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

 

Children’s Story and Craft hour every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Pleasureville Christian Church. Also, the community library at the church is open to the public from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

 

Eastern Elementary SBDM council will meet at 4 p.m. in the school library.

 

The Henry County Middle School SBDM meeting will take place in the HCMS Conference room at 4 p.m.

 

Thursday, March 5

 

TOPS 298 will meet at Orville Baptist Church. Weigh in 4 p.m. New members welcome. Open house will begin at 5 p.m. following meeting.

Friday, March 6

 

Alcoholic’s Anonymous and Al-Anon meet at 8 p.m. at the Eminence Baptist Church. The group will also meet Sunday, March 8 at 7 p.m. at Henry County Library and Tuesday, March 10 at 8 p.m. at Eminence Methodist Church. All of these meetings are non-smoking.

 

A New Direction in Life, a Christian support group for alcohol/drugs or other addictions will meet from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Eminence.

 

Saturday, March 7

 

AA meeting at 8 p.m. at the Pleasureville City Hall building. These meetings will be non smoking.

 

Benefit concert will be held at 7 p.m. at Eminence High School gym featuring local band, Bluesneck. $5 admission for presale ticket. Benefit is for Eminence Project Prom.

 

The Agape Ladies Group of the Sulphur Christian Church is sponsoring a soup supper in the church fellowship hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Carryout orders will be available.

 

Sunday, March 8

 

Contemporary worship at New Castle First Baptist Church will now be held at 5 p.m. on Sundays. For more information call (502) 845-2355 or visit on the web at www.ncfirstbaptist.org.

 

The KY Cowboy Church will hold praise and worship services every Sunday at 6 p.m. For more information Call (502) 845-7897

 

The grief support group for people dealing with the loss of a loved one or close friend will meet at 3 p.m. at Henry Christian Church. The group meets the second Sunday  of each month.

 

33 1/3 will sing and praise at Henry Christian Church at 7 p.m.

 

Monday, March 9

 

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting  at 11 a.m. at New Castle Christian Church. Please enter through the green door.

Tuesday, March 10

 

The Alateen “Together We Can Make It” group will meet at 8 p.m. at the Methodist

 

Henry County High School SBDM Council will meet at 6 p.m. at Henry County High School.

 

The North Central KY Goat Producers Assn will meet on March 10 at 7 p.m. at the Henry County Extension Office. Steve Moore, ANR agent will present a program on spring and summer forage options for pastures. Anyone is welcome to attend. Henry County  CARE Team coalition meeting will be held from noon to 1 at the Henry County Public Library. Please RSVP at (502) 878-0001 for lunch.

 

Saturday, March 14

 

A M.W.A. Wrestling benefit will be held at the Eminence Community Center for the Maynes family, who lost everything in a house fire. Doors open at 6 and bell time is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7. For advance tickets, please call Billie Jean Downey at 878-9031. All proceeds go to the Maynes family.

 

Sunday, March 15

 

Providence Baptist Church Relay For Life team will have a chili luncheon immediately following church. Chili w/ assorted toppings, sandwiches, desserts, tea and lemonade all for a donation to Relay For Life.
