Kentucky State Police arrested a Spencer County couple Friday, Jan. 24, for sexual abuse charges involving an 11-year-old female family member while living in Henry County.
According to the complaint, Laura Pike, 38, of Fisherville and boyfriend Brett Smith, 36, of Fisherville allegedly performed sexual acts on the juvenile and forced her to commit sexual acts while the couple lived in Henry County. Kentucky State Police Post 5 Detective Tim Moore leads the investigation dating back to incidents occurring between July and November 2012.
Pike allegedly forced herself on the juvenile while naked. Police have charged Pike with incest, a class A felony, 1st degree sodomy, 1st degree sexual abuse and unlawful transaction with a minor.
Smith allegedly forced the juvenile to engage in illegal sex activity, given her age at the time of the crime, as she was incapable of consent. Police have charged Smith with 1st degree sodomy, 1st degree sexual abuse and unlawful transaction with a minor.
Troopers obtained warrants for the couple’s arrest in Henry County and served them at their residence in Fisherville Friday. The Spencer County Sheriff’s Department aided Moore in the couple’s arrest.
Smith is lodged in Shelby County Detention Center and Pike is lodged in the Carroll County Detention Center. At time of press, both were being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
