Kentucky State Police are on the hunt for two men who robbed the Pendleton Cowboys/BP Food Mart early Monday morning.

KSP responded to a call reporting the armed robbery at 4:40 a.m. Monday.

“There were no customers there, just the clerk,” Detective Kevin Johnson said, “and nobody was injured.”

According to Johnson, two black men entered the store — one man showed the employee what appeared to be a black handgun, the other a silver handgun — demanding money.

Witnesses said they saw a third black male waiting outside in a dark-colored 1990’s model Oldsmobile or Buick.

KSP is collecting and evaluating evidence at this point. “We’re still in the initial phase,” he said, “working with people on video surveillance.”

Other agencies have been contacted to ascertain if there have been similar incidents recently within the area. “We’re hoping someone has information that will help,” he said.

Johnson said nearby merchants also were advised to be on the lookout for these individuals.
