Citizen’s Union Bank is once again collecting teddy bears for their “Ardi’s Bears” program.  Ardi’s Bears is a non-profit organization which collects bears for gifts to children in need through organizations such as the Dream Factory, Wayside Christian Mission the Center for Women and Families, children in orphanages and hospitals, and also to senior citizens in nursing homes, etc.

Last year CUB collected more than 2,500 bears and they were donated throughout the counties in which they were collected.  They went to places such as local police departments, non-profit events like the Christmas at Claudia’s in Shelbyville, and other organizations who help children at Christmas time.

Several hundred smaller bears, such as beanie babies, were sent to some of our soldiers in Iraq, who keep buckets of them in their tanks to distribute to the children there.  Any bears that were soiled or damaged were donated to the Humane Society.

CUB has a “Bear Barrel” at each of its locations, as well as at a number of local businesses within the communities they are located in.

Stop in any CUB location and donate a Teddy Bear today!
