Laryssa Cybriwsky has been named as the new cross country coach at Eminence High School. Cybriwsky is in her first year as a sixth grade English and science teacher at Eminence Middle School.

Cybrwisky ran cross country and track at Paintsville High School. She made the state championships in both sports three consecutive years.

In college Cybriwsky majored in middle school education. This is her first teaching and coaching job.

She is residing in Eminence and is excited about the opportunity to coach.

“I thought I would coach eventually,” Cybriwsky said. “Maybe not my first year, but the opportunity came up so I took it.”

“I’m excited to be doing it. I love running, I love the kids and I love building the relationships.”

Cybriwsky is hoping to build the program from the ground up with enthusiasm and energy. “I’m hoping to build an excitement and joy for running in my younger students. I would like for every kid to set a personal record by the end of the year. If they look at what they ran at the beginning of the year and see improvement by the end of the year that would be great.”
