The Eminence Warriors opened the season with two games on the road last week. On Thursday they fell to Valley 11-1. On Friday Bullitt Central defeated the Warriors 15-1.

Valley 11, EHS1

The Warriors started the season by scoring a run in the top of the first inning at Valley but the Warriors couldn’t generate any more offense the rest of the way. Valley tied the score in the bottom of the first and then went on to score in each inning thereafter to win by 10 runs in seven innings.

“We had guys playing out of position, so by doing that we were soft in a lot of areas and they took advantage,” Coach Leroy Dunn said. “We have to learn to put the ball in play and stop looking at strike three and learn how to hold runners on. They had a lot of stolen bases.

“Our guys played like a young team will play in the first game of the season, scared and nervous. We are very, very young and I believe they want to learn for the most part. We need more experience in the game. The guys do not understand the game yet.”

Bullitt Central 15, EHS 1

The Warriors traveled to Bullitt Central on Friday and fell 15-1 in five innings. Coach Dunn was not available for comment as of press time.
