Eminence preschool/kindergarten registration begins this week

-A A +A

Screenings for Eminence Preschool will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday April 17, and Friday April 18, from 8 a.m. to noon at Eminence Elementary School.

If your child will be four years old by October 1, he or she can be screened for EIS preschool program. Screening is necessary for placement so it is important to bring your child with you.

Three-year-old children with a disability or developmental delay can be screened as well.

Everyone must register their child even if the child has attended a Head Start Program. Head Start Children will not need to be screened, but a registration packet must be completed and required health documents must be submitted before the first day of preschool.

If your child will be five years old by Oct. 1, your child is ready to start Kindergarten. If your child is already attending preschool with Mrs. Coblin, you do not need to register your child; he or she will be automatically enrolled for the 2014-2015 school year.

Please be ready to present the following documents at registration. These documents must be provided in order for your child to register.

•Birth Certificate

•Proof of Income- Preschool only (Family income is no more than 150 percent above poverty level)

•Valid Kentucky immunization certificate

•Proof of Residency (drivers license or bill w/ street address)

All students registering for preschool and kindergarten are also required to have the following documents on proper forms before the first day of school:

•Eye exam ( licensed optometrist)

•Dental exam( Kindergarten only)

Please make appointments and plans for these during the summer, as Eminence Elementary will not allow students to start school without them.
