Just a few days after defeating Silver Grove High School to win their third game of the season, the Eminence Lady Warriors took a 32-17 loss against Louisville Collegiate last Tuesday afternoon.

Eminence (3-18 record) was trailing Collegiate (9-6) by 16 points before the Lady Warriors could score their first basket against the visiting Amazons. Rachel Raisor netted a running jumper with 3:42 left in the second quarter to put Eminence on the scoreboard for the first time.

Raisor then knocked down a three-pointer the next trip down the court, but those were the only points Eminence scored during the first half as Collegiate took a 19-5 advantage into the halftime break.

During the third quarter, Eminence's shots started to fall after many of their attempts rattled out of the rim the first half.

Candace Wells knocked down a jumper with five minutes left in the third, Chelsea Mathis knocked down back-to-back jumpers midway through the same quarter and Rachel Metcalfe scored inside with 10 seconds left to leave Collegiate ahead 25-13 with a quarter remaining.

Eminence added four points during the final period when Katie Mathis hit a free throw and Raisor, who finished with a team-high eight points, swished three shots from the line.

Besides the Silver Grove (39-31) win on Jan. 26, the Lady Warriors have defeated Riverside Christian (42-33) and Brown (28-19) to give them three wins on the season. Their next game will be this Friday at home against Carroll County, and they will close out the regular season at Henry County on Feb. 15, at Louisville Collegiate on Feb. 19 and against Beechwood on Feb. 23. Eminence has already lost to all four teams this season.
