Eminence Middle School traveled to Paris Middle School on Sept 13, and found themselves down at the half, 20-14.

After making some halftime adjustments, Eminence took the third quarter kickoff, used up almost the entire 3rd quarter on a grinding, time-consuming drive and took the lead for good, 22-20. Scoring in the first half for Eminence was defensive end Noah Mudd on a 9-yard fumble return.

Then Luke Satterly hit Cameron Mathis for a 57-yard touchdown pass. The only points for either team in the second half came off of Satterly’s 12-yard scoring run around the right end. Tackle leaders were Noah Mudd and Luke Satterly, with five each.

Big defensive plays helped EMS hold off Kentucky Country Day 12-0 at home on Sept. 20. After a scoreless first half, the Warriors’ Ryan Gay blocked a punt deep in KCD territory which gave EMS a spark, leading to Jared Golden’s quarterback sneak from one yard out.

The Warriors kept KCD’s high scoring passing game in check. In the fourth quarter, defensive tackle Wyatt Owens hit KCD’s quarterback just as he released the ball, leading to an errant pass that linebacker Cameron Capps picked off and ran back for a 47-yard touchdown.  Tackle leaders for EMS were Cameron Capps, Luke Satterly and Derek Roberts, with four each.

The EMS Warriors are 6-1 on the season.
