The Henry County Fiscal Court last week passed an amendment to the nepotism ordinance on second reading during a special meeting.
When Henry County Sheriff Danny Cravens made it known that his son would go through the process for a full-time position as a sheriff’s deputy, the issue of nepotism came up in the county’s personnel policy and the ethics ordinance.
Cravens maintained that any potential candidate goes through an interview board panel made up of employees at the sheriff’s office so that he is removed from the process.
