The Henry County Lady Cats traveled to Owenton Wednesday Aug. 22 to take on the Owen County Lady Rebels and came away with a 5-0 defeat.
Owen County scored 3 goals in the first half and 2 in the second as the Lady Cats were held scoreless for the second time in three games.
Coach Brandie Stivers said that the team had at least four or five shots hit the cross bar or goal post during the game. “We had several shots on goal they just wouldn’t go in,” she said. “I think we dominated the game, a majority of the game was played in Owen’s half of the field. We just had bad luck with almost all of our shots hitting the posts.”
Stivers complimented the play of two players in particular. “Katie Miller has stepped up her defensive game and Sara Foree was able to get every ball coming her way and get it down the line,” she said.
Stivers believes communication is the key moving forward. “I keep reiterating that the girls need to talk to each other on the field and to make more accurate passes,” she said.
