As part of the Fuel up to Play 60 Grant, Eastern Elementary is continuing their efforts in encouraging students to make healthy choices in their daily diets. Recently, the students explored all the benefits of including dairy products to their diets. Vitamin D is in dairy products and aids in the development of strong bones, and makes teeth stronger. Fifteen minutes a day in sunlight can help to give the body natural Vitamin D, but many times we need to take the Vitamin D through supplements and through our food. Students were able to enjoy low-fat ice cream and low-fat milk products to create their own milk mustaches.
