Just as Cinderella’s coach turned back into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight in the fairy tale, Cinderella’s Closet turns back into Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park when the shopping is done.

Open just one weekend a year, Cinderella’s Closet offers a fairy tale evening to high school junior and senior girls who cannot afford the high cost of a prom gown.

Each is provided an entire prom ensemble at no cost.

Founder Erin Peterson said she was inspired by a teenager she overheard asking a consignment shop clerk to put a hold on a beautiful turquoise off-the-shoulder prom dress.
