An unidentified assailant attacked a Henry County man with a machete at his home Monday morning.

Christopher Cooper, 29, of Pleasureville said he didn’t know who attacked him at about 4:30 a.m.

“He said he got into an altercation with this person he doesn’t know outside his home and the person started attacking him with a machete,” said Trooper Brad Arterburn, Public Affairs Office for Kentucky State Police Post 5. “He said he doesn’t know if he had stabbed him with a knife or a screwdriver either, but he ran and flagged down someone going to work.”

Arterburn said Cooper, covered in blood, flagged down a driver near his home at Woods Pike and KY-22. The driver called 911 at 5:08 a.m.

Cooper was transported to University of Louisville Hospital after KSP Post 5 received a call at 5:08 a.m. His injuries were not fatal.

KSP Detective Tim Moore is leading the investigation. Anyone with any information on this crime should contact Kentucky State Police at (502) 532-6363.
