Four Henry County athletes attended the Eastern Relays Saturday, April 25.

Brittany Crawford placed fourth overall in the 100-meter hurdles, while Cassie Fischer completed in the one and two mile races, but coach Jacob Crowe did not have their results.

Crowe said the team’s pole vaulters did not perform well, after previously meeting personal records.

“They’ve moved up in poles, met their personal records, met their goals,” Crowe said. “We bought new poles and they’re still adjusting to them.”

Crowe said the pole vaulters have to hold the new poles differently, and adjust their approach while vaulting.

“Our whole goal was to make sure we got that finished before we got to regionals,” Crowe said.

“I expected them to do better (at Eastern), but I have to be patient and realize the poles do make a big difference.”

The tracksters are off this week, but return next week in three events — the Henry County all comers at HCHS on May 5, Thursday at the NCKC Chamionships at Walton-Verona and Saturday at St. Xavier.
