First-year head coach Sedrick Williams wasn’t surprised that his boys’ 400-meter relay squad won the Class AA Region 3 Championship last week, just at the ease.
Highlighted by the runaway victory from Erick Butler, Lance Timberlake, Robbie McCleskey and Pete Baldwin in the shortest relay on the track, seven Henry athletes qualified for the Kentucky State Track and Field Championship in 10 different events — a possible school record. Competing in one of the toughest Class AA regions, Henry left North Oldham High School last Wednesday night with impressive results. And nine athletes, including two alternates for the relay, extended the 2010 season one more week.
