A season marked by Sedrick Williams taking over the Henry County track program and the athletes qualifying for the state meet in a school-record 11 events came to an end last Thursday night at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Track and Field Championship.

Based on their performances at the Region 3 Championship the week before, seven different athletes qualified for Class 2A state in 11 different events with five of those being contenders for a state title. In the end, Travis Farmer brought back to New Castle an impressive third-place finish in the pole vault and the rest of the Cats ended what was one of the more successful seasons in track at Henry County High School.
