The streak lives on.
Each year since the Henry County softball team made the switch from the 30th District to the 31st District in the state’s 2006 realignment, the Ladycats have won the district title. This year was no different.
Beating Owen County 7-5 in the district finals last Tuesday night on Owen’s field, the Ladycats have now won the championship for the fifth straight time. Matt Wright, in his first year as the head coach, said he is proud of his players for extending the steak, but also wants them to realize that each one of those championships was from an individual team and this win was about this particular group of players.
