Kentucky State Police have arrested two men they believe to be involved in a May 2 home invasion near Smithfield.

On Thursday, May 8, KSP Detective Steve Goodale arrested Johnny Lee Gibson, of Henryville, Ind., with one count of first degree robbery, one count of first degree burglary and unlawful imprisonment. That same day, he charged Eminence resident Robert Gordon Bryant, 47, with one count each of first degree robbery, first degree burglary and first degree kidnapping.

Bryant was found in Henry County, Georgia, and was initially charged on a KSP warrant for violating parole and the sex offender registry.

Both men await extradition – Goodale from the Clark County, Indiana, Detention Center, and Bryant from the Henry County, Georgia, Detention Facility.

The arrests came almost a week after KSP worked a home invasion at 7634 Ballardsville Road.

According to a KSP press release, “it was reported that two unknown subjects wearing ski masks entered the residence through an unsecured rear door of the house and held three victims at gunpoint.

“One victim was ordered to take two checks for cash to the Bedford Loan and Deposit Bank in LaGrange and make a drop of the money at another location. Other items were reportedly taken from the residence during the incident. The victims were left at their residence and were unharmed.”
