A two vehicle accident on KY-22 last week sent a New Castle man to University of Louisville hospital and a Louisville woman to Baptist Northeast.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Andrew Williams of Westport was travelling west on KY-22 when Marsha Hilgeford of Louisville pulled out of a driveway and onto KY-22 and into the path of Williams’ SUV.

KSP’s Seth Willis said that according to reports, Williams attempted to turn left to avoid Hilgeford’s vehicle, and was braking prior to impact, before T-boning Hilgeford’s vehicle.

Hilgeford was sent to Baptist Northeast in La Grange by Henry County EMS, while Williams refused treatment at the scene.

Williams’ passenger, Ricky L. Doyle II of New Castle sustained injuries the KSP said “were substantial enough to be flown by LifeNet to the University of Louisville.

Willis said investigating officer Trooper David Trimble said that Williams and Hilgeford were wearing their seatbelts, but Doyle was not.

Eminence Fire Department also responded.
