Learn how to grow profits on the farm

-A A +A
By Steve Moore

Growing Farm Profits is a training coming up Feb 1-3 in Lexington, which offers a great opportunity for Kentucky produce farmers. This is a farmer-to-farmer training that will inform participants about keeping records about their crops, their expenditures, their packing shed layouts and more in order to make themselves more profitable, more efficient and more competitive.

Three national consultant/farmers will be doing the training. There is also a great “meet the buyers” presentation that will include at least five presenters. The meeting will end with money/land solutions, including information about grants, loans and land-access opportunities.

We have a draft agenda available at the Henry County Extension Office 845-2811.

TOBACCO GAP TRAINING

We are offering a Tobacco GAP Training from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 21, at the Shelby County Extension Office. Dr. Bob Pearce, UK Tobacco Agronomist, will be conducting the training. Please contact the Henry County Extension Office, at 845-2811 to let us know your intentions to attend.
