Arts & Crafts

Free adult scrapbooking offered at the Eminence Community Life Center from 10 a.m. to noon, on Thursdays.

Church Services
Quakers (The Religious Society of Friends, also known as “Friends”) meets for unprogrammed worship every Saturday afternoon at 4, at Port Royal Methodist Church. This informal group is under the guidance of Lexington Friends Meeting. Contact Betsy Packard: dogbydog123@aol.com or (502) 529-1598.
Drennon Christian Church hosts The Andy Griffith Bible Study at 6 p.m., every Wednesday. Come join for dinner, fun and a laid back Bible Study.
Grace Fellowship of La Grange will hold midweek services at 6:30 p.m., every Tuesday, in the Ramada Inn meeting room.
New Castle Christian Church’s Adventure Club for Kids meets every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Children through the 5th grade are invited to participate  in this fun and creative learning group.
Port Royal Baptist Church Friends and Family worship service will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, June 5.  Everyone is invited.
5th Sunday Gathering at Drennon will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 29. Dessert provided, musical entertainment by Billy Scrivner, former band leader at Kentucky State Reformatory.

Civic Organizations
Eminence Rotary Club meets at noon at the Henry County Public Library every Monday.
The New Castle Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday of each month at Marlene’s Cozy Corner Restaurant in New Castle.

Community Services
The mobile food pantry visits Henry County from 3-6 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month. The gates at the Henry County Fairgrounds open at 2:45 p.m. Please bring ID or recent mail to confirm address — must live in Henry County.
Bundle up your newspapers, aluminum, plastics, etc., and take to County Road Barn at 714 Property Road, 7 days a week.

Education
The Henry County Middle School SBDM Council will meet at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, in the conference room.

Farmers Market
Henry County Farmers Market is open for the season and runs through the end of October, Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings at the Henry County Courthouse.

Health &  Fitness
The Kipda Rural Diabetes Coalition (KRDC) Henry County Group will hold its first meeting from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, June 9, at the Henry County Health Department in New Castle.  For more information contact monahuff.henrykipda@gmail.com.
Fight the effects of gravity and weak postural muscles with Bones for Life! Build core muscles and bone density, stand taller and move with more grace. Library Happenings
Teen Parent Support Group will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 26, at the Henry County Public Library. Have snacks, learn parenting tips and get support! Open to all current and expecting parents.
Teen Movie Night, “I am Number Four,” rated PG-13 will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, May 29, at the Henry County Library. Snacks provided!

Henry County Republican Party — 7 p.m., 2nd Tuesday of each month, at the Henry County Board of Education Building.

Relay for Life
Henry County Food Services will be having their annual Tractor Drive on Saturday, May 28, with all proceeds to benefit Henry County Relay For Life. Please contact William Potts at (502) 220-0431 for more information.
Relay For Life Cookout from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, June 2, on the Courthouse Lawn sponsored by the Henry County Government Team. Hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, slaw, chips, dessert, drinks, $7.

Support Groups
Alcoholics Anonymous meet at 8 p.m. at the Eminence Baptist Church on Friday, May 27. This group, along with Al-Anon, will also meet at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 29, at Henry County Public Library; and at 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, at Eminence Methodist Church. All of these meetings are non-smoking.
A New Direction in Life, a Christian support group for alcohol/drugs or other addictions will meet from 7:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, May 27, at First Baptist Church, Eminence.
AA meeting at 8 p.m. at Pleasureville Methodist Church on Monday, May 28. These meetings will be non smoking.
Alcoholics Anonymous meeting  at 11 a.m., Monday, May 30, at New Castle Christian Church.  Please enter through the green door.
Caregiver support group will meet at 5:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month, for people taking care of someone with dementia or Alzheimers. Call 1-877-224-1349, ext 140 for info.
