Arts & Crafts

Free adult scrapbooking offered at the Eminence Community Life Center from 10 a.m. to noon, on Thursdays.

Church Services

Pleasureville United Methodist Church Fall Craft Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the church. Chili lunch begins at 11 a.m. Bake sale begins at 9 a.m. There will also be a yard sale during the bazaar.

Revival services will be held at Pleasant View UMC, featuring Larry Rhodes, evangelist, Special Music, Ashley and George Frederic, Oct. 28-30. Night services at 7 p.m. and Sunday service at 11 a.m. Pot luck lunch following.

Providence Baptist Church will have Trunk or Treat following a chili supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. For more information please call (502) 532-6321.

Quakers (The Religious Society of Friends, also known as “Friends”) meets for unprogrammed worship every Saturday afternoon at 4, at Port Royal Methodist Church. This informal group is under the guidance of Lexington Friends Meeting. Contact Betsy Packard: dogbydog123@aol.com or (502) 529-1598.

Drennon Christian Church hosts The Andy Griffith Bible Study at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Come join for dinner, fun and a laid back Bible Study.

Grace Fellowship of La Grange will hold midweek services at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday, in the Ramada Inn meeting room.

New Castle Christian Church’s Adventure Club for Kids meets every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Children through the 5th grade are invited to participate  in this fun and creative learning group.

Civic Organizations

Eminence Rotary Club meets at noon at Henry Christian Church every Monday.
The New Castle Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday of each month at Marlene’s Cozy Corner Restaurant in New Castle.

Pleasureville Masonic Lodge No. 410 meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month at their Lodge Hall, 105 Main St., Pleasureville.

Community Services

The mobile food pantry visits Henry County from 3-6 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month. The gates at the Henry County Fairgrounds open at 2:45 p.m. Please bring ID or recent mail to confirm address — must live in Henry County.

Bundle up your newspapers, aluminum, plastics, etc., and take to County Road Barn at 714 Property Road, seven days a week.


Eastern Elementary will have its SBDM Council meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the school library.

HCMS will have its SBDM council meeting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the conference room.

The Eminence SBDM council meeting is held the last Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m.

Farmers Market

Henry County Farmers Market is open for the season and runs through the end of October, Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings at the Henry County Courthouse.


Benefit for Tim “Roadie” Clark will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Scribers in Eminence. $5 cover, live music featuring Robby Cox Band and auction. Proceeds will benefit Roadie to help with medical expenses from his recent diagnosis of throat cancer.

Tri-County Community Action Agency’s Board of Directors will meet at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Campbellsburg State Police Post meeting room. The public is invited to attend.

Health & Fitness

Triad-Senior’s Day Out  will be held on from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, in the Tri-County Community Action Agency Fitness Room/Gymnasium, 1015 Dispatchers Way, La Grange. Lunch, door prizes, Bingo, Movie, popcorn and more! Call 502-222-1349 for more information.

Political Groups

Henry County Republican Party — 7 p.m., 2nd Tuesday of each month, at the Henry County Board of Education Building.

Support Groups

Alcoholics Anonymous meet at 8 p.m. at the Eminence Baptist Church on Friday, Oct. 21. This group, along with Al-Anon will meet Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Eminence Methodist Church. Both meetings start at 8 p.m. All of these meetings are non-smoking.

A New Direction in Life, a Christian support group for alcohol/drugs or other addictions, will meet from 7:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, at First Baptist Church, Eminence.

AA meeting at 8 p.m. at Pleasureville Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 22. These meetings will be non smoking.

AA meeting  at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 24, at New Castle Christian Church.  Please enter through the green door.
