Alex Hadden and Isaac Klempner are back on the Mussleman-Dunne Junior Golf Tour for a second season. Hadden has competed in three events and Klempner in four events in the boys 11-12 age division.
MacKenzie Peyton also competed in the girls’ championship division in four tour events.
Hadden won two of the tournaments he has entered, shooting 75 at Stone Crest Golf Course to win the KIA Classic on May 18 and 19. He shot another 75 at Seneca Golf Course on May 25 and 26 to take top honors.
This weekend Hadden shot 75 again, this time at Quail Chase Golf Club, but came in second to Miles Parroco of Prospect who shot a 74.
Klempner played in four events shooting 102 at the Cardinal Club on April 20-21 for a ninth place finish, 86 at the KIA Classic for a fourth place finish and 91 at Seneca for a 12th place finish. This weekend Klempner shot a 92 and finished eighth.
Hadden is in first place in the tour player of the year rankings and Klempner is eighth in the rankings without this weekend’s event having been figured in to the rankings.
Peyton won this weekend’s event in the girls championship division shooting 78 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday for a 36-hole total of 157. The score was good for an eight-stroke win over second place finisher Katie Gathof of Louisville.
In previous events Peyton had a runner-up finish in the KIA MatchPlay at Seneca on March 16-17 where she lost 1-down after 19 holes to Jordan Webb of Frankfort in the championship match, finished second at the Cardinal Club on April 20-21 while shooting 73-81-184 and finished 10th in the Kentucky Junior Masters at Champions Trace May 4-5 with a 27-hole total of 130. Peyton is tied for fourth place in the player of the year rankings having played in one less event than two the two competitors ahead of her and not including this weekend’s victory.
