The Pleasureville City Commission suspended its police chief Friday, Jan. 11, in a special called meeting. The suspension was effective immediately until a hearing can take place on allegations made against Stucker earlier in the week.

Commissioner Pam Whitaker made the motion to suspend Chief Patrick Stucker, which the commission unanimously approved.

"I move that Chief Patrick Stucker be suspended with pay from his duties as Police Chief of the City of Pleasureville," Whitaker said in her motion. "This suspension will be until a hearing takes place on the complaint filed and dated Jan. 11, 2008, and which hearing will take place within 60 days of today's date.

"The reason for my motion to suspend is that the allegations in said complaint, if true, constitute conduct that may be construed to be an abuse of official authority and a violation of rules and regulations of the department. Further, if true, those allegations indicate conduct unbecoming an officer and which would tend to bring the city into disrepute."

A message left for Whitaker Monday afternoon was not returned at press time.
