Praise for all the Ms. Pettigrews everywhere

-A A +A
By Rev. Michael Duncan

Her house set just off the hard-packed dirt road. (All the roads in the small village were dirt except for the main road, which was gravel.)

A woven-wire fence separated the yard from the road.

An array of flowers grew behind the fence, their blooms facing toward the house.

The house was a small wooden-frame structure covered with asbestos shingles.

The porch, though small, was neat and included chairs that invited one to come and sit a spell.
