Rabbit and poultry processing training on April 11

There will be a mobile processing unit training at 9 a.m. April 11 at the Kentucky State University Research Farm located at 1525 Mills Lane in Frankfort. This is a day-long training, with the morning session in a classroom. The afternoon session is a  hands-on training of both rabbit and poultry.

The cost of the training is $75 for certification for the first two years and $50 annually after that. Lunch will be included during the training.

There is a pre-registration process.  Please contact Steve Skelton at KSU at 502-597-7501. He will take your information and mail the proper forms to you.

Pesticide card training

A Private Pesticide Applicator Certification training will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 10 am, at the Henry County Extension Office.  The training and the exam generally take a couple of hours.  For further details, please contact the Henry County Extension Office at 845-2811.

Third Thursday Thing

The February edition of the Third Thursday Thing is slated for 10 a.m. Feb. 16, at the KSU Mills Lane farm. The topics for the day include agroforestry, organics and high tunnels.

Cattleman’s association
meets Feb. 27

The Henry County Cattleman’s Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the Henry County Extension Office.
