Henry County youth will be heading to Lake Cumberland 4-H Camp on Tuesday morning, July 10.
We will be returning Friday afternoon on July 13.
The theme for this year’s camp is Camp Madagascar. Campers will enjoy participating in the following classes: swimming, canoeing, fishing, low ropes, high ropes, archery, rifle, crafts, nature, caving and much, much more. In the evening there will be field games, talent shows, skits, line dancing, and, of course, Sally Down the Alley, a 4-H camping tradition.
The cost for camp this year is $160. To hold a camper’s slot we need a registration form and $10. Participants have until June 30 to make the final payment. If there is a financial need for a scholarship, please call Cathy Toole at 845-2811. Time is running out, as camp is filling up fast.
If you would like a form please call the office or stop by and pick one up. They are also available on line at the www.henrycounty.com, website under the Extension link.
Each year we look for teen leaders and adult leaders to chaperone campers while at camp. There is no fee to pay, but there is a mandatory training and background checks are mandatory on anyone 18 or older. If you are interested in volunteering, please call Cathy Toole at 845-2811.
