Ronald Gordon Sr., age 74 of Eminence, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at his residence. Son of the late William and Anna (Holup) Gordon, he retired as a supervisor for Leggett and Platt. Ronald was a proud veteran of the United States Army, was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel and a member of Eminence Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Gordon, Eminence; his daughter, Deneen Wilson (Ray), Campbellsburg; one son, Ronnie Gordon (Anna), Shelbyville; two brothers: Levi Gordon (Norma) and Eddie Gordon (Judy), all of Eminence; two grandchildren: Cody Gordon and Katie Wilson; one great-granddaughter, AllI Gordon and four step-grandchildren: Kane Stewart, Kassie Bruner, Kambron Bruner and Alexis Woods.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of Eminence Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in Eminence Cemetery. Visitation was 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Ray Purvis, Donald Spears, Hubie Crum, Bobby Johnson, Cody Gordon, Carl Collins, Johnny Reynolds, Katie Wilson and Ray Wilson.
Pallbearers were Connie Scriber, Darrell Scriber, Timmy LaFollette, Kevin LaFollette, Leonard Wilson and Jeff LaFollette.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
James Martin, 43
James Everett Martin, age 43 of Hodgenville, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Black Martin, Millen, Georgia; his mother and step-father, Gracie Underwood and William Underwood, Hodgenville; two brothers: William Albert Martin Jr., (Joyce), Columbia; Joseph Wayne Martin (Wanda), Pleasureville; three step-brothers: Eric and Michael Underwood, both of Mt. Sherman; Kasper Underwood, Cecilia; one sister, Sandra Kay Ashcraft (Roy), Taylorsville; one step-sister; Becky Underwood, Magnolia; three nephews and four great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Albert (Willie) Martin, Sr.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. The Rev. Jeremy Spurlock of Hodgenville Pentecostal Church officiated. Interment was in Eminence Cemetery.
