Gibson named to Dean’s List
Samantha Gibson of Pleasureville was recently named to the Dean’s List at Morehead State University and recognized for high academic achievement.
Samantha is the daughter of Jerry and Carolyn Gibson of Pleasureville.
Montgomery makes All-State Chorus
Lauren Montgomery, the daughter of Billy and Denise Grigsby of Campbellsburg performed in the Kentucky Music Educators Association All-State Chorus. The concert took place at the Kentucky Center for the Arts in Louisville, Friday, February 8, 2013 as part of the 2013 Kentucky Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference. She was chosen for the honor in competitive auditions held this year across the state. Lauren is a student of Henry County high school and performs in the choir under the direction of James Russell Cooper, a member of the Kentucky Music Educators Association, an association that represents over 2,000 school music educators in Kentucky. Montgomery is a private voice student of Ruth Ann Mills-Moore. This is her second time to perform in an All-State Ensemble.
Henry County students in state choirs
Two students from Henry County — Caitlin Beutel and Lydia White — took part in the Kentucky Children’s Chorus.
Eight Henry County students took part in the Kentucky Junior High Chorus: Landon Enmen, Austin Preston, Jessie Archer, Maggie Bratton, Faith Lee, Alysha Hardin, Kera Meritt and Camille Wilkins.
