Eminence Redskins

The Eminence Redskins of the Henry County Youth Football League are having signups at the Henry County Public Library on Saturday, June 6, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. until noon. The team is for Eminence students in second through sixth grades. A team raffle advance payment of $25 is required at signups. A signup fee of $65 is due by mid-August with no refunds. Soccer Camp

The Henry County Youth Soccer Association will host a soccer camp July 20-24 at Harry Hill Park for ages four through 16. The cost is $76 for 4-5 and $102 for 6-16. To register, visit www.challengersports.com. Call (502)845-9008 for more information.

The account is mainly used for Henry County-related postings, including the two high schools in the county — Henry County High School and Eminence High School.

8th Region Baseball

In the opeing-round of the 8th Region baseball tournament, Shelby County, Carroll County, Anderson County and Gallatin County advanced to the semifinals. The regional tournament is hosted by Shelby County High School this season with the opening-round games played on Memorial Day.

Shelby defeated Grant County (15-5), Carroll defeated Oldham County (4-3), Anderson defeated North Oldham (5-2) and Gallatin defeated Walton-Verona (3-0). Shelby and Carroll played each other Tuesday at 6 p.m., Anderson and Gallatin played Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., and the championship game is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the state tournament.

Henry County was defeated by Carroll in the first round of the 31st District tournament, while Eminence was defeated by Anderson in the first round of the 30th District.
