Catfish Tournament Results

The Henry County Rod and Gun Club held their first catfish tournament of the 2014 season on Saturday, May 24.

The Big Fish winner was Matthew Booth.

Winners for total pounds caught were: 1st place-Troy White, 2nd place-Amanda Rayburn, 3rd place-Danny Adams.

The next tournament will be held June 21st starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m. June 22.

Registration begins at 6 p.m. on June 21.

The tournament is open to the public and you must have a Kentucky fishing license. Concessions will be available.

Free kids fishing

The Henry County Rod and Gun Club will host a free children’s fishing tournament on June 21. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The Rod and Gun Club is located on Sunnyside Road near Smithfield.

Fishing starts at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. The event is open to children under the age of 16. A parent or guardian must accompany children.

There will be lunch, trophies and prizes awarded. Bait and tackle are not furnished.

Lady Cat Basketball Camp

The Henry County Lady Cats basketball team will host the Shoot for the Stars basketball camp from June 16 through June 18. Doors will open at 8 a.m. The camp is for grades 2 thru 8 (next year).

Cost is $40 for one or $30 each for sisters of the same family.

Application and money is due at the door the first day of camp.
