On behalf of the Eminence Education Foundation and the Eminence Independent School District, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for making our Education Dinner and Silent Auction such a success. The Foundation collected over $10,000 to use for future scholarships and teachers' grants.

First, I want to thank Ms. Jonna Priester of the Henry County Local for writing the article on the history of Eminence Education Foundation and for covering the Education Dinner and Silent Auction on February 9, 2008. Even though the Local has been short staffed and extremely busy, Ms. Priester has always tried to arrange her schedule to accommodate our needs.

Next, I want to commend the committee for their dedication and efforts in planning and organizing this event. This twenty-member committees expertise and work ethic was above and beyond my expectations. Their only goal was to make this event a success so that our teachers will have resources and our students will have opportunities to receive scholarships.

I also want to praise the businesses and the individual citizens who donated prizes/items and monetary gifts to the Foundation. Our committee members are sending out individual thank-you notes to these businesses and individuals, but I want to publicly applaud all of you for your generosity and commitment to our students. Without your many kindnesses, there would not have been a silent auction or dinner to benefit our students.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who attended the event. There were city council members, fiscal court members, school board members, school employees, ministers, business owners, and citizens that love and appreciate our youth. It is truly fantastic to see such a diverse group of people come together in fellowship to promote future opportunities for our students.

I also want to notify all readers that the Eminence Education Foundation Committee is already planning for our 17th Annual Education Dinner and Silent Auction. Please mark your calendar for February 7, 2009. I can promise everyone we will have good food, good prizes, and a GREAT atmosphere to fellowship.

Again, I want to sincerely thank each and everyone for making our 16th Annual Education Dinner and Silent Auction so special and I am looking forward to our continued partnership in the future.
