Light up New Castle is now a memory. We had some small glitches but it was a success overall. This is the first year in many years that the festival committee was in charge of the Light Up festivities. We saw some things that we will do differently next year and some things we want to add next year. I want to thank the following individuals and businesses who helped with this past weekends Light Up. I want to thank Cook’s Pharmacy, Make A Memory, Pat Wallace, Bette Peyton, Ben Coomes, Rev. & Mrs. Garry Polston, Larry Kays, Gary Kays, Scot Treece, Terry Keown, Lynn Adams, John Porter, Mayor Judy Diederich, New Castle Elementary School, Henry County Sheriff’s Dept., Trooper Jim Mitchell, Henry County Judge Exec. Office, all the vendors, parade units and spectators, NCUMC Youth Group, Faithful Eight, Community Choir, Mom’s Restaurant, Croxton’s Photography, H C Chamber Office, Golden Trinkets “N” Treasures, and Pearce Homestead Crafts and Gifts. I want to send a very special thank you to Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Delightful the Elf. They traveled along distance from the North Pole to be our Special Guests at Light Up New Castle. I want to especially thank the New Castle Festivals Committee. They put in hours and hours of hard work to make all 3 of the cities festivals come together for the enjoyment of many people. The festivals committee are Patsy Sevier, Teresa Philips, Connie Hay, Wilma Cunningham, Juanita Raisor, Frances Patterson, Beth Kays, and Anna Lee Smith. If I have left anyones name out of the thank you’s I apologize. The Festivals Committee want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We will see you at the Annual New Castle Spring Fling in June of 2008. Charlie Sevier
