Over the past couple of weeks, in my mind, I've written at least one-hundred different versions of this letter. As I type the words now, I'm not confident that I will convey my true feelings, thankfulness, and pride in being part of this community.
The ways in which you (and you know who you are) came through for our students this holiday season is overwhelming, to say the least. Many times I've expressed that since I was a student in this school, the citizens, businesses in Eminence and Henry County and others who have some connection to the area have given and given graciously to the students of Eminence Independent Schools and this holiday season was no exception.
You took our "Pay It Forward" theme to astonishing heights. Whether you "sponsored" a student or gave a "monetary" donation, you were the reason all of the students in our holiday assistance program, had Christmas. Furthermore, because of you, because you gave from your heart, I'm confident that some of these same students and families will step into your shoes next year or in years to come and "Pay It Forward."
This letter is in no way the personal thank you that each of your deserve and, without the risk of omitting someone or some group, it certainly would not be fair for me to even attempt to thank you, here, publicly.
Many of you would not have known our need for sponsorship and monetary donations had it not been for the media coverage provided by Jonna through the Local and so I will take this opportunity to publicly thank her for that. I was extremely pleased with the first article but the second article, focusing on one of our former recipient families, turned sponsor, and our "Pay It Forward" theme, was over the top.
We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and because of you, our students did too!
Thank you for "paying it forward" and changing the world, one student at a time!
