The Henry County Wildcat track team wrapped up the indoor season by competing in the Mason Dixon Games in Louisville on Saturday.

Cole Nelson led the way for the Wildcats with a 3rd place finish in the long jump. Cathryn Fischer also faired well in the long jump with a 6th place finish.

Destany Crawford got 7th in the 60-meter hurdles, Connor Finley placed 6th in the same event and Morgan Miller finished 5th in the pole vault. The top eight finishers scored in each event.

Coach Sed Williams was pleased with the team’s performance but is looking forward to the outdoor season. “I was very pleased overall. Destany, Cathryn, Connor, Morgan and Cole all placed in scoring positions and the girls 4X400 continues to get faster every week,” he said. Some of the athletes are progressing along well while others have a way to go, but I feel confident that the team will meet their individual goals with continued hard work. Now that the indoor season is over and we will be outside on the track more, the training regime will be different and should produce better results along with the hard work on the track and field.

All in all I’m happy with the indoor season but ready for the athletes to get into the outdoor season. I feel strongly that we could have multiple athletes perform really well throughout the season.”
