The Henry County boys’ golf team hosted South Oldham in their final home match Sept. 16 at the Henry County Country Club, falling 175-191.

Alex Hadden led the way with a 45 followed by Isaac Klempner with a 46. Robbie Cruse and Dillon Allen each shot 50.

Assistant coach Steve Allen said players had ups and downs in the match. “Everybody played well but every player had a couple holes where they lost focus and had a big number they didn’t need,” Allen said. “You take those out and we shoot in the low 180s. The loss was unfortunate for these guys but I said they would come back and play well and they did. I’m proud of them for that.”

The Cats had the NCKC conference tournament yesterday and regional tournament next Monday remaining in the 2013 season.

“I think this match gave them some confidence going into the NCKC,” Allen said. “We just need to take our time and focus on one shot at a time and our scores will be there. It’s going to be a long day for them. I’m really proud of the hard work they put in to play the way they do.”
