At the risk of wearing out my welcome in the Letters Section of the paper, I would like to commend Lance Minnis for his article in the Oct. 17 edition of the Local. The two most important statements he made were to point out that the city of Eminence is not helpless in protecting its old buildings and that “tearing down the city center to install a generic big box is not what successful communities do…” ‘Progress’ never means tearing down an old building just to put up a new one (but always one with “plenty of parking”) in its place.
