One July 3, 1813, Chestley Vest posted a marriage bond of 50 pounds in order to secure a license to marry Elizabeth (Eliza) Dean, daughter of John Dean. David Taylor signed as surety on his bond. The wedding, presided over by the Rev. Thomas Vandever, Minister of the Gospel, was held on July 4, 1813.
