In January 1814, the attorney for the County Court of Henry County filed the following information concerning a murder that occurred in the County.
On Jan. 15, 1814, America, a slave who was the property of Little Berry Wells of Henry County, was charged with murdering Nicholas, a slave who was the property of John Evans, a resident of Henry County. America was charged with preparing and administering a poison to Nicholas, causing his death.
