Are you ready for fun, friendly competition, fresh new ideas and most importantly, ready to help fight back against cancer?
Then… On your mark, get set, go!
We are about to kick off our annual event in Henry County and anxiously waiting to share in the excitement with all of you!
Our annual kick off celebration is slated for 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at the Henry County 4-H building.
We know Henry Countians are just as passionate about sports and their favorite teams as they are about fighting back against cancer, so we decided to enjoy both. Come dressed to support your favorite sport or team and celebrate as we start the new Relay season!
To spice up the competition, we are asking our teams to participate in our first ever Chili Cookoff at the event! Do you have what it takes to win bragging rights and the Chili Cookoff trophy? Try your hand at it, make your best pot and enter to win. Come prepared with an appetite for chili, drinks and dessert, and enthusiasm to make this the best Relay ever!
All of our lives have been touched by this disease, and we want to do what we can to fight back. Come meet your committee members, fellow team captains and team members, and learn what you can do to help support the American Cancer Society.
We are looking forward to seeing you all there. As your event chair, I am extremely excited to get Relay 2012 underway. We live in a generous, caring community that I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of, and each of you help make it that way. We have lots of new ideas for the event as well as our team captain meetings.
Be prepared to learn, be engaged and participate rather than what you might have experienced at meetings in the past. You told us what needed to change and we’re listening.
This year promises to be exciting, fun and something you can be proud to participate in. Join us on Jan. 22 and see what we have in store for you!
Thanks to each of you!
